Ka-137
is intended for wide range of missions of the Ministry of emer-gencies, the
Defense Ministry and also for the national economy. Particulaly it can be used
as a robotic means which is able to carry out technological operations at the
human dangerous areas. It is able to perform engineering, radiation, chemical
and biological investigation; to deliver the urgent special purpose cargoes; to
perform data translation and retransmission in the human dangerous extreme
situations; to carry out fire-prevention patroling of forests and peats, and
also to decide other numerous problems. The designing of Ka-137 began in 1994,
the development of the draft project was finished in 1995, and in 1996 the
full-scale mock-up of the unmanned helicopter was made.
Ka-137 is included into the structure of MBVK-137 multi-purpose unmanned helicopter complex which
can be made in three versions, as: unpaved-mobile, aeromobile and ship. From two till five unmanned helicopters may be included
into MBVK-137 structure. The unpaved-mobile complex is based on improved
mobility KAMAZ trucks. It includes the PPU-137 movable control unit able to
control simultaneously the flight of two unmanned flying vehicles; the
transport-operational machine with two helicopters containers; the crane for
loading and unloading of flight vehicles,
and also changeable sets of the special onboard equipment. The aeromobile
version is placed at the Ka-32 type helicopter. The unmanned helicopter is
delivered to the point of dislocation on the external suspension of the manned
helicopter with control and operational post onboard.
The unmanned Ka-137 helicopter is able to flight in any direction and at all
speed ranges without restrictions. It is especially important for a helicopter
type flight vehicle remotely or automatically piloted in conditions of air flow
turbulence, and also at high wind with unknown direction.
DESIGN FEATURES. The Ka-137 unmanned helicopter is made under the
coaxial-rotor with spherical fuselage. The tail is absent.
The lifting system consists of two 2-blade main rotors. The blades of the
rectangular form are made with use of natural and polymer composites. The
landing gear - four-legged, spring type.
POWER PLANT. The helicopter is powered by Gobler Hirtmotoren «Hirt» 2706 R05 (1*65 h.p.) piston two-stroke engine. At the experimental helicopters the German made engines are installed, series unmanned flight vehicles should have the Russian made engines.
ONBOARD AVIONICS. Ka-137 is equipped with a digital system of automatic control made with the use of artificial intelligence. The onboard inertial-satellite navigation system ensures automatic flight on the complicated flight profile. In the special purpose equipment compartment the TV and thermal vision camera, radar, translation equipment, and also other gauges and systems of total mass up to 80 kg can be installed.
